THE GAME

This is a typical arcade game for Spectrum 128K made using AGDX (a modified version of Arcade Game Designer 4.7).

This is the first game in which i use spritemask.
Because of that, the game has to be played in mode 128K and has no AY music.

The main characters are agents Allan and Dina.

Their main goal is entering in the facility where the new ZXS Spyctrum computer is being produced and steal it's plans of production.

PLAYING THE GAME

The game has 31 playable screens.

The two agents have to go through the facilities in search of 12 floppy disks that contain the production plans for the new ZXS Spyctrum. In addition, they will have to bring 4 prototypes of the same, as well as the activation code found on one of the facility's computers, well traveled by the facility's guards.

To obtain the activation code, the agents must find the 4 keycards and insert it in the right facility's computer.
To insert the 4 keycards, just stand in the computer terminal and press DOWN key (default "A").

But agents task is far from easy.

The facilities are well guarded by the guards who patrol them, as well as small robots that are not there for fun (although their movements are limited).

Allan and Dina also have to be careful with the disintegrating rays and some traps.

In most of the screens, we have to play with both agents.
Pressing keys "1" or "2" toggle between agent Allan and agent Dina, for us to play with.

When we want to exit from a room/screen, both of agents must be positioned in the exit path that we want to go and if we are playing with Dina, we have to press 1 and go the other screen.

In some rooms, agents will see squares with the numbers "1" and "2".
This means that Allan [1] or Dina [2] must be pressing that numbered lever to activate something that allows the other to access to a place and get what's there.

There's one room where we'll see both saquared number.
Both must be pressed, but only Allan's lever must staying pressed.
Afte pessing the [2] lever, Dina can go to the place that was not allowed to reach and get a floppy disk and a button that must be pressed to open the acess to the lower levels.

When an agent is trapped, just select the other agent and find a away to free the partner.

There's one room where Dina must stay there to keep the passage open.
So, Allan must proceed alone in lower levels.
After that, Allan returns to that room and they both can go back and find a way out (if they have all to complete the mission, of course).

In some rooms there's a kind of "safe place", where players can hide and avoid beeing captured.

Just Allan can enter the computer room where the activation code can be getted.
To enter the computer room, press DOWN key in the passage.
To exit the compute room, press UP key in the passage.

In the bottom of the game screen (panel) we can see:
- A space where some messages are written;
- The agent's heads, which become white or blue, depending on who we are playing with.
- The number of lives;
- The keycard icon (later, the activation code icon);
- The number of keycads collected (later, 1 when agents get the activation code);
- The floppy disks icon;
- The number of floppy disks collected;
- The computer prototype icon;
- The number of computer prototypes collected.

The player starts with 12 lives, but can add 5 more.

And, of course... Losing all lives means GAME OVER.

CONTROLS

The characters can be moved using Keyboard, Kempston Joystick or Sinclair.
Select the desired control scheme by pressing 1, 2 or 3 in the Main Menu.

You can REDEFINE KEYS pressing R in the Menu (except choosing agent keys - "1" and "2").

The Keyboard controls are as follow:

  • Q for UP
  • A for Down
  • O for LEFT
  • P for RIGHT
  • SPACE for JUMP
  • 1 for choosing Agent ALLAN
  • 2 for choosing Agent DINA
